Materials:
- Yarn (Lace (0) weight)
- Cotton Cord
- U.S. size 7 (1.65 mm) Crochet Hook
Instructions:
- Over a single cord foundation: Sc 15
- Ch 1 to turn.
- Sc 15, without the foundation cord, hooking into both horizontal loops of the St below.
- Ch 1 to turn.
- Sc 15, without the foundation cord, hooking into both horizontal loops of the St below.
- Ch 1 to turn.
- Over the foundation cord: Sc 15, hooking into both horizontal loops of the St below.
- At this point you should have returned to the base of the bud.
- Create the stem:
- Over the foundation cord: Sc 10.
- Ch 1 to turn.
- Over the foundation cord: Sc 10, hooking into both horizontal loops of the St below, and returning to the base of the bud.
- Fasten off cords.
- Crochet the trio of small leaves that will later be attached to the top of the bud:
- *Ch 7.
- Sc 1 into the 2nd Ch.
- Sc 1 into each of the next 5 Ch Sp.
- Sc 3 into the final Ch Sp.
- Sc 5 up the backside of the original Ch of 7.
- Sc 3 into the final Ch Sp – rounding the leaf.
- Sc 1 into each St on the other side (Sc 6 in total).
- Sc 3 into the Sp at the end of the leaf.
- Work your way back to the base of the leaf with Sc 6.*
- Repeat the * segment until you have three mini leaves.
- Fasten the yarn off.
- Attach the leaves to the top of the bud.
