Irish Crochet: 5th Leaf

Materials:

  • Yarn (Lace (0) weight)
  • Cotton Cord
  • U.S. size 7 (1.65 mm) Crochet Hook

Instructions:

  1. Over a single cord foundation: Sc 40.
  2. Ch 1 to turn.
  3. Return over the cord: Sc 24, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St.
  4. Ch 1 to turn.
  5. Over the cord foundation and into the previous Row: Sc 16.
  6. Over the cord foundation and free of the previous Row: Sc 16.
  7. Ch 1 to turn.
  8. Return over the cord: Sc 26, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St.
  9. Ch 1 to turn.
  10. Over the cord and into the previous Row: Sc 10.
  11. Over the cord and free of the previous Row: Sc 8.
  12. Ch 1 to turn.
  13. Return over the cord: Sc 18, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St.
  14. Sc 1, over the cord, into the base loop of the 2nd leaf segment.
  15. Sc 6, over the cord, into the next 6 open St of the 2nd leaf segment.
  16. Ch 1 to turn.
  17. Over the cord and into the previous Row: Sc 10.
  18. Over the cord and free of the previous Row: Sc 8.
  19. Ch 1 to turn.
  20. Return over the cord: Sc 18, hooking into both horizontal loops of each St.
  21. Sc 1, over the cord, into the base loop of the 1st leaf segment.
  22. Sc 14, over the cord, into the remaining St of the stem – until you return to the first St.
  23. Fasten ends off.
