I planted radishes in my garden for the first time this year, and they have done extremely well. Now, I am not a big radish lover, as a kid I was would always make the point of picking them off of my salads. Actually, come to think of it, I still do that as an adult. Radishes can be bitter, spicy, and have the tendency to bite back.
As I racked my brain for ways to work my way through the several dozen radishes that have sprung up in my garden I hit upon the idea of drizzling them in honey. Once the idea struck, I had to at least try it, and to my great surprise, it has quickly become one of my favorite mid-day snacks. A few cubes of a flavorful swiss cheese, a thinly sliced radish, and a drizzle of raw honey – it feels decadently indulgent for something so exquisitely simple.
Ingredients:
- thinly sliced Radishes
- Raw Honey
- cubed Swiss Cheese
Directions:
- Layer the cheese, and then the radishes onto a plate. I used toothpicks to facilitate, but they are not necessary.
- Drizzle with honey.
- Enjoy.
I never would have thought of this combo. Super creative!
